    • Accessibility Roadmap

      • 2026 (Planned)

        • Conduct first comprehensive WCAG 2.1 accessibility audit

        • Complete Section 508 compliance review

        • Screen reader testing with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver

        • Keyboard-only navigation testing and remediation

        • Color contrast verification and fixes

        • Add alternative text to all image

        • Implement MathML for mathematical equations

        • Complete closed captions on all video tutorials

        • Address gaps identified in Q1 audit

        • Document VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template)

    • Risk Assessment for Districts

      • High Risk Items

        • No formal accessibility audit completed - Districts cannot verify SCAG/508 compliance

        • Tablet Incompatibility - May exclude students who primarily use iPads/tablets

        • Screen reader compatibility unknown - May not be usable by blind/low-vision students independently

        • No keyboard navigation verification - May create barriers for students with motor impairments

      • Medium Risk Items

        • Mathematical notation accessibility - Fractions may not read correctly with assistive tech

        • Video accessibility - Captions not yet complete on all content

        • Visual-only information - Graphs and charts may lack text alternatives

      • Low Risk Items

        • Strong privacy compliance (COPPA / FERPA)

        • Built-in differentiation reduces need for separate accommodations

        • Flexible pacing accommodates many learning needs

        • Development team committed to accessibility improvements

    • Recommendations for Districts

      • Before Adoption

        • Review with Special Education Director - Assess whether gaps impact your student population

        • Pilot with diverse learners - Test with students who use assistive technology

        • Plan for accommodations - Identify how to support students who need screen readers, keyboard navigation, or tablet access

        • Request VPAT - Ask for Voluntary Product Accessibilty Template once Q1 2026 audit complete

      • During Implementation

        • Computer access required - Ensure students have laptop/ Chromebook/ desktop access

        • Teacher support needed - Studetns with sugnificant accessibility needs may require teacher assistance

        • Alternative formats - Be prepared to provide human reader support or alternative assignments

        • Monitor and report - Document any accessibility barriers encountered and report to vendor

      • For IEP/ 504 Compliance

        • Built-in differentiation helps - Math difficulty can be adjusted per student without stigma

        • Extended time automatic - Week-long windows and no timed components

        • Multiple attempts allowed - Reduces test anxiety and supports processing differences

        • But - May require accommodations for screen reader users, tablet users, or students with visual impairments

    • Vendor Commitment

      • dfusion Inc. / STEMPlay Labs commits to:

        • Conducting first formal accessibility audit 2026
